M6 - where to stop for a break with a toddler?

We have to do a mammoth car journey tomorrow (Fife to Eastbourne!) and would like to stop somewhere off the M6 to let DS run off some energy. A softplay perhaps?

Does anyone know of anywhere that might do?

TIA Smile

wow that IS mammoth!! I know the m6 quite well from Kendal down to Holmes Chapel (jct 18 to 36 and live in the middle of that lot, so some more clues as to quite where you'd prefer to stop please?

imho some of the best ones to get at easily from the motorway are in the Warrington area, is that any good? We use them regularly too :)

Hi MrsShrekTheThird, thanks for the reply Smile Just having a look at the map, hang on a second ...

Warrington would be great, thanks Grin

Kendal's too far north really, at the other end junction 18 would be fine too.

Just off the M6 Stoke-on-Trent South is Trentham Lakes outdoor play area, cafe etc.

Tatton Park at Knutsford is just off the M6 (J19 just south of Warrington) and is open on Bank Holiday Monday. There's a good outdoor adventure playground there.

That's great, at first glance just the kind of thing we're looking for. I'll have a look at them both, thanks Grin

Very late reply to this thread... however, just in case anyone else sees these posts, a great service station to stop at is Tebay. It's independent (not your moto or similar) and has lovely food and fab little softplay for toddlers nd young ones.
