my daughter turns 4 in January and has been saying she would really like to go camping for her birthday, i have explained that it will be too cold and will go camping in the summer.

However i would like to surprise her and go away somewhere for her birthday, we dont have a very big budget and with the weather being so unpredictable dont really want to travel too far from home.

we are in west yorkshire

can any of you lovely ladies suggest anywhere not too far, not too expensive and with local things to do with a 4 and a 1 year old for a 2/3 night break next month.

at the age of 4 I would make up a tent in the living room with all the accessories and just surprise her and have lots of fun pretending.

Just got back from a week at Coombe Mill Farm in Cornwall.. thoroughly recommend it! My three year old had such a fantasic time, there were daily tractor rides where the children can feed all the animals (he loved the donkeys best!!) Perfect family break away!
