this is all from a few years ago so take something more recent if you can

My personal favourite - Chutney Mary's in the King's Road here

Always said to be great but I was rather underwhelmed - the Red Fort in soho here

Happiest memories - Kastoori in Tooting here

Oh also for historic interest rather than the food - the oldest Indian Restaurant in London, the India Club in the Strand here

I have been to both Veeraswamy and Amaya and they are both amazing! They are part of the same group as Chutney Mary's but are both more central

Tayabs out east (Whitechapel?) is excellent if you like tandoori.

My Indian mate took me to CHOWKI, just off Piccadilly Circus.

DW and I always go back there for a good Indian meal.

Well.. for Chutney Mary's, from Cov Garden tube take the westbound Piccadilly line, change at Earls Court and take the westbound district line to Fulham Broadway, and follow your A to Z.

However, that's a hell of a trek, I wouldn't do it for a night out. Chowki's or Veeraswamy will both be about 10 mins' walk away so I'd go for one of those.
