Hoping to take the children to London for a weekend. Can't seem to find anywhere that will costs less than £500 for the 2 nights. It seems such a lot to pay or am I being unrealistic?

If you don't mind being a little farther out. The YHA at Cheshunt is a few minutes walk to the railway station as well as being in the middle of Lea Valley Park (best of both worlds) and is 20 minutes into Liverpool Street and about 30- 40 minutes into the West End. There are spaces in december.

Cheshunt YHA

We've used the Novotel at Tower Bridge, and at Greenwich. Their family rooms sleep 4. I'm sure we don't pay that much for it.

Oh yes, we stayed at YHA St Pancras in a family room (4 bunks). Very reasonably priced. Just remember to take towels.
