Preferably in Yorkshire, non-car although I could hire a car if needed, DD 2.6 and DD1.2

I mean, very cool for a two year old who likes trains, not for me, no no no no no, just the two year old (who is a DS not a DD in fact)

Hi check out The Old Luggage Van and The Travelling Post Office Haparanda Station which is in St Germans in Cornwall near the border with Devon. The owners are really lovely and it is a true railway experience holiday.

ooooooooooooooh. Looking very possible, quite a long way away, but another excuse for a nice long train journey ...

we stayed here when our little girl was still crawling. Is lovely and cosy but not anywhere near Yorkshire!

looks lovely. Does feel like a proper train? Also would it be a bit cold and rainy in February?

PS thank you for the suggestion

Oh yes it totally feels like a train and a gorgeous kind of vintage train at that. It has a woodburner so is very warm but it is on the edge of a cliff and in Wales and in feb hmmm. I live in Wales and love it but I have to say Feb is not the best month for a holiday here really. And stuck in a train carriage with two toddlers then might not ideal. plus everything will be closed maybe keep looking.......

oh. How disappointing. My mum said this too (the stuck in a train carriage with two toddlers bit, not the Wales bit).

Maybe York. We could go to the railway museum and the cathedral ...
