our ds is nearly 6, not sure he could stay up until midnight but we really fancy going away - anyone got any ideas for family friendly NY hotel, break etc...

CP's far too expensive!

We have spent New Year at a youth hostel before - Hartington Hall and Ilam and others are currently advertising 3 night all inclusive breaks for less than 200 pounds an adult and much less for children. We thoroughly enjoyed it - good food, lovely surrounding, lots of families, ensuite family rooms. Only drawback is the not so comfy bunk beds!

thanks Myth - I really wanted something a bit more comfy than a YH for NY but fits the bill for a Summer break next yr, thanks for suggestions

I know, the lounges and dining rooms, particularly at Hartington and Whitby too which are lovely old houses are just as good as a decent hotel but bedrooms mostly basic. Doesnt seem to bother the kids though!

We like Wringworthy cottages in Looe but I am not sure if they are open at New Year or not. Best to check this out.
