I prefer Sherwood, personally

Longleat is very hilly so if you have small children Sherwood might be better. We prefer Elveden in Suffolk as it is flat for little ones cycling and quite new so the accommodation is nice.

Been to both with small children and Nottingham is best. Everything is more central and not hilly!! Nice walk round the central lake.

I think I'll go for Sherwood, is it worth paying the extra for the new style exe lodges?

^this is what Longleat looks like. It's bloody hilly. And people tell you this before you go but you don't really belive it until you see it Grin

I think Longleat is a bit nicer than Sherwood but would go back to Sherwood again until the children can ride their own bikes.

Have a day pass to the swimming part of Longleat for Saturday - what else should we do when we're there? Family of 3 boys 13, 9 & 5 - all good swimmers so that part is OK - going to Longeat probably on Sunday - or to Stonehenge.
