Can you suggest a romantic but sexy hotel for our wedding night? Within a few hours of Wiltshire

Up to £500 if really special but would prefer about £300.

Rural rather than in a city and likely to have space this side of Christmas.

Thanks

Tylney Hall?

Vespasian · 18/09/2010 23:07

That does look nice and we could book a suite within budget.

barnsley house
My sil had her wedding there, it is a beautiful place, we had the room which you had to cross stepping stones to get too - our kids loved it! The food is out of this world and the service was excellent.

Babington House? Or do you have to be a member? Or Lucknam Park

retiredgoth2 · 18/09/2010 23:29

How about in Wiltshire?

The Sign Of The Angel in Lacock

In Wiltshire is fine.

I did think of Babington but the Mr and Mrs site says you need 6 months for a weekend booking . I will check though.

Just realised that mentioning my kids in a thread about wedding night hotel doesn't make it sound fantastically romantic Grin

Vespasian · 18/09/2010 23:40

It did not put me off. It looks lovely.

rosieposey · 20/09/2010 22:10

Am crap at links but DH and i stayed at 'The Pear Tree' in the countryside on the edge of a village called Purton in Wiltshire - gorgeous, we had a beautiful suite for £300 or thereabouts, it really was lovely.

LauraNorder · 20/09/2010 22:11

The Pear Tree at Purton is lovely! It's just up the road from me - l love going there for dinner (not very often though Hmm)

Olihan · 20/09/2010 22:12

Thornbury Castle is gorgeous, been there twice and it's fab. Even saw Chris Evans and his mrs there last time (not sure if that would put you off though!)

LauraNorder · 20/09/2010 22:12

The Pear Tree Purton

Olihan · 20/09/2010 22:14

Oh, and it's only 20 mins from the bright lights of Bristol and Bath so rural hotel but lots to do in the day.

LauraNorder · 20/09/2010 22:15

Bowood Hotel they have a very lovely lodge you can stay in. Have never stayed in the hotel myself though.

rosieposey · 20/09/2010 23:01

Laura its just up the road from us too - its gorgeous :) We are in N Swindon and we had our (quirky) reception at a nearby railway station also in the country and it was just a 5 min drive away - Its a beautiful hotel and restaurant.
