anyone have any reccommendations for me? we are me, dh, dd(5) and ds(2)and we want to spend two nights (28/29th dec) in the area seeing the reindeer etc - as always, as cheap as possible! would absolutely love to find a family room (ie double plus bunk bed) in a little b&b that has a fire in the guest lounge, but don't know if such a thing exists!
hope mumsnet can help!

My dh stayed \link{http://www.aviemore-bunkhouse.com/\here} when he was a boy. Don't know what like it would be though.

thanks Fimbo. i did have a look at the SYHA youth hostel in aviemore so this does look like another good alternative which we will think about.

anyone else got any ideas?

Don't know about B&B's but the bunkhouse over in Carrbridge is very nice (though been a few years since last there)

Downside of hostels and bunkhouses though is that there is a good chance you'll end up sharing the common spaces with hairy climbers Grin

You might find the Columbridge hotel is a good option.
Looked it up and for all of you dinner B&B £263 all in. They have pools as well so good facilities. HTH
