Car hire on a sunday ?

I need to get from York or darlington or leeds railway sation to a litttle village near malton - can't find any car hire places open on a sunday and train bus options take hours - anyone any ideas ?

Hmm. Can you pick up the car at cob on Saturday? Some places let you do that for no extra charge? IIRC we did that with Budget Truck rentals when we moved.

I used to work for a hire company. We would drop the car off on the saturday, or customer would pick it up, but on the rental agreement the time the rental would start and be charged from would be on the sunday, therefore that is when the insurance would start. If they drove it before then, and had an accident, they were basically screwed.
