Staying near Keswick with toddler and baby

Not too familiar with this part of the lake district - looking for suggestions of good days out with a 2yo and 10wk old. We have carriers although DS1 is heeeaaaavy now... DH really keen to do cat bells, anyone done it with little ones?
Any suggestions gratefully received!

We did cat bells with a 2 and half year old in a carrier.

For an easier walk you could take the launch to some point on the lake then walk back on the lake side path.

Grizedale Forest is fab. - walks, cycling, sculpture hidden in woods, etc.
