Spa Hotel recommendations in Southwest/ west, please

Hello,

Can anyone recommend a lovely hotel with a spa? Dorset/ Hants/ Wilts/ Somerset/ east Devon area or maybe Bath?

Please.

Anyone?

DS1 and his partner have just returned from Bannatyne's Charlton House Spa Hotel near Shepton Mallet, Somerset.

They were raving about how lovely it is.

If its just for you and DH, then whatley manor in gloucestershire is fab (pricy but sooo nice), calcot manor in tetbury also very good (esp if you are taking children) have heard babbington house is good.

Or go a bit further south to Cornwall and try The Scarlet - lovely!

Barnsley House looks lovely, but i have never been

Oh and Bath Priory is lovely if you want to be a bit more into a city

I second Calcot Manor - tis a favourite of mine.

Also, it's a little bit cheaper, and a little bit corporate, but the Four Pillars at Cotswold Water Park isn't too bad. Spa really good, and a nice environment too next to the lake. The gastro pub next door does pretty good food.

I thought Babbington was ok, but a bit hyped tbh (and food v v expensive).

If you want to splash out, The Royal Crescent in Bath is supposed to be lovely. A couple of us have booked a day there in October.

I'm not overkeen on Calcot nor Cowley Manor tbh, but then i guess i like the more oldy worldy type places rather than those i feel 'try too hard'. Cowley definitely falls into that bracket but I guess some people must like it

We stayed at the Bath Spa - it is great, walkable into Bath if you fancy it. Also the Thermae Spa in town if you fancy a change.
