Hi there, I am desperately looking for a cottage for New Year. Ideally need roughly equal distance between Liverpool and London. So the Cotswolds, Warwickshire, Worcestershire. Perhaps even Norfolk. We need 5 bedrooms at the least. Looking to spend aprox £1400.

Does anyone know of anywhere?

Have tried all the usual holiday cottage websites and so far am not coming up with anything for when we want or in our price-range.

Have you tried this company www.thebigdomain.com/? I just Googled big holiday lets!

You may need to up your budget a bit, I have a holiday let that sleeps 7 and it is priced at £1.4k for the New Year week. It is in Cornwall though which tends to be a bit pricier. Good luck.

Okay first of all the charge for new year and Christmas is the same as summer high season - said as a holiday landlord. However, if you can hold your nerve and are not too fussy about your exact destination the agencies start discounting in late October early November and we aim to get three quarters of the quoted letting price. I would expect to pay around £1500 to £1600 for a week for 10 at the discounted rate.
The disadvantage of waiting is that the most popular properties for christmas and new year are the big ones.
