Love their properties, can anyone suggest other s/catering as nice as theirs, not Hoseseasons etc. Thank you.

If you're thinking of going to the south-west would thoroughly recommend Helpful Holidays. Have been with them a good number of times now including over christmas and have never been disappointed.

No not s/w only because we have been that way some many times, would like to explore more Norfolk, or Yorkshire areas, just like something really nice but well within our meagre budget, so if we go out of season we might manage it! Atm impossible to make plans as DH undergoing trial chemo and has 3 lots of surgery ahead of him, so will be very lucky if we can get away for a week, only managed 3/4 night breaks in the last 3 years.

st bride's bay in pembrokeshire - we have just had a fantastic place with them - though can't guarantee they are all as nice. hoseasons are the booking agents for otter falls near honiton and thats good

Rural Retreats are very similar to Premier (including price unfortunately!)

We got an absolute bargain with English Country Cottages a couple of years ago as we were last minuting it. I rang a couple of days before we wanted to leave and they offered me some cancellations that they were reselling that weren't on the web. Hope your DH's treatment goes well.

Will try those, thank you and thank you for your good wishes, he has just had 6 hours chemo today, one more to go then the scary ct!

National Trust and Landmark Trust do holiday cottages. Some are basic but some are lovely. All are in really interesting locations.

Just looked at Rural Retreats, lovely but way out of our price range, trouble is I like somewhere luxurious, inc a hot tub, the only time I feel relaxed!!

I have used Classic Cottages for South West -recommend Colenso Cottage near Helford and a property called Pengelly. Helpful Holidays are okay as well.

Helpful Holidays have a special offers page as do Rural Retreats - sometimes with up to 50% off for last minute.

Rural Retreats are good, but they are poor to book with, don't ring you back etc whereas Classic are excellent.

Rural Retreats are v expensive, but I notice that a few of their cottages have come off their books and gone with another Company, Cottages4you, who advertise them at better rates. These are on the Crofts Estate in Scotland. Have a look.

I haven't used this company but always thought some of the properties look nice, if your looking at Norfolk.
