There will be a couple of big birthdays in our family next year and I'm looking for a big house in the Somerset/Devon area to celebrate. I've narrowed it down to these 3:

I don't know the areas at all. Which would you choose? Can we walk to a pub or grocery shop from any of the properties? There will be some children with us, which would be the best place for day trips?
