Hello! We're in Stirling and as WW says Briarlands (literally right next to the safari park) is fabulous for a day trip with kids (probably best for under 8s though). But, like the safari park, you want a dry day for this.

What kind of place are you looking at to eat out? Your hotel is very central as you say, so there are options in town. There are Italian options in town but can't personally recommend...

We have a fabby new swimming pool with ice rink that could be good if it's raining.

How old are your kids?

the castle is pretty good.

yes if you like Historic things the castle is fab and you could walk in minutes from your hotel. wallace monument is good too. bannockburn IMO is pretty rubbish.

Came on to say Briarlands too - its also close to Dobbies for cake salad.

From Striling you are only 1/2 and hour's drive from Loch Lomond which is worth a trip - the Lomond Shores is great - shops, cafes, boats, wee train, play area etc
