It's our wedding anniversary in Feb and we have the chance to go away on our own (yipee) for 2 nights....but we havent got a clue where to go!!!!

Hubby thought Barcelona, Madrid etc... but weather is going to be rubbish then as always is in Feb usually snowing.

Please inspire me to do/go somewhere special for these 2nights...dont mind the UK did think of London but we can do that anytime!!!

I've always wanted to go to Rome...

It will be cold in Feb but hopefully sunny too. Better than the UK grey.

Either that or I would hole up in some nice UK hotel with spa/decent restaurant/nice local walks and read the paper in my dressing gown without interruption. Bliss!

We went to Florence in January a couple of years ago. Such a beautiful city, very cheap, not too cold in the winter and also a much better time to go as less people and less expensive. It is so very beautiful and there is so much to see. Very very romantic.
Really cannot recommend it highly enough.
We just went for a walk and kept stumbling upon gorgeous statues, fab restaurants and galleries. It was soooo amazing Less touristy too, so def. got more of an Itaian experience....sigh

We also went to Paris in Novemeber a few year ago. Again, cheaper, less busy and warmer than Britain!

Ive just looked at last minute - top secret hotels and prices are brilliant £140 for 5* in west end or Mayfair!

If you want a reasonable chance of warmth then Marrakech is fabulous - gorgeous Riads to stay in, very exotic and romantic

(as long as you are ok with dirty streets and smells and getting lost)

I think Venice has lots of masked balls in February, expensive but would be amazing

Rome is also lovely in the winter - their pavement cafes stay open but with blankets and patio heaters. And plenty of indoor stuff to do if the weather is rubbish.

We went to Prague in December and it was lovely. Snow on the ground but sun in the sky! Everywhere sold hot chocolate, hot wine etc so we just wrapped up warm (it was about -12) and indulged in a lot of hot drinks!
