We've just come back from County Hall Premier Inn. Its right next to the eye, there's a small play park next to it and street entertainers etc. It was an easy walk to Big Ben, Westminster Abbey, through St James park to Buckingham Palace (stopping off for ice cream) on to Trafalger Square and back. All with dd's 5 and 8. It was ideal for us.

Don't know what it's like but there's a fairly new one in Victoria, v.close to the train station on the corner of Ecclestone Square which would be v.convenient for everything

I would second the recommendation for the County Hall Premier Inn. We stayed there a few years ago, and it was great - particularly as Waterloo station is a few minutes walk away, so it was easy access for us (as we live in Reading).

I'm hoping to book a few days there for the 2012 Olympics, but not available as yet.

Yes - definitely County Hall Premier Inn. Great location - some rooms look out onto London Eye - but very quiet at night. Most family rooms tend to be on the bigger size compared to lots of new builds (as this was previously County Hall offices) We have stayed there 3 times and everywhere is very walkable from there. Gets booked up though so I would get online and book it!
