we are away last 2 weeks august and have been let down by in law who were going to have our lovely dog. Would anyone like a free holiday in our house looking after him? Huge garden, nature reserve/ river on doorstep zoos, safari parks. A really lovely spot for holiday, honest!
Sleeps 6.

Where are you?

Sounds lovely, by the way and very generous and trusting of you.

overthemill · 17/07/2010 07:57

in bedfordshire. Small village 1 mile from station. Truly lovely. I'd need to check out you are who you say you are ! But it'd help me out so much!

That is a fantastically generous idea. We live in France and do need to be in the UK at that time - this could save us from staying in a crowded house with relatives.

Could you email me, please - the name of this website, then the letters 'ter' at gmail dot com to see if it could work out?

We can offer a stay at a large farmhouse in the countryside of northern France in exchange!

emailed you! Excited!

Oooh. another one here interested if laughorcry can't make it. I was going to book some travellodge nights, but this would be brilliant.

overthemill · 17/07/2010 08:43

email address? i will give you details - we are away for 18 days unbelievably

maybe if this works out we should do this again. A good way to have a nice holiday cheaper than a package deal?

overthemill · 17/07/2010 08:50

yes, i thought there used to be a houseswap topic but couldn't find it last night. I think it's a fab way to do it - and presumably we're all child friendly

Sorry overthemill. My e-mail is bone at home @ g mail. com. Without the spaces.

pleasereassure · 17/07/2010 09:29

It would also be a good test for us as I am 90% committed to the idea of getting a dog (since DH left). This would actually help us see if we could do it!
So...you would be helping us also

overthemill · 17/07/2010 09:45

how fantastic i wish i could help but lack of holiday time left in work would mean i would be sacked plus we are skinter than skint and DD is scared of dogs

overthemill · 19/07/2010 15:43

maybe aversion therapy? We live somewhere you could probably not spend much money, walks, picnics, paddling in the river, playpark, etc. !?

OP posts:
PandaEis · 19/07/2010 15:48

it really does sound exactly my cup of tea...i will suggest it to DH and maybe hold DD against a nearby dog and see whether she gets over the fear (thats a joke BTW)

i reckon i could wrangle a few days unpaid in work and use my last few holidays so i will definitely get back to you

my email address is ei4sds @ hotmail . co . uk (without spaces obv)

ok, obviously you need to take dog out couple of times a day and he is big but very soft not quite 2 year old labradoodle. Scruffy and bouncy but adores kids and is very gentle with little ones.

Let me know what dh says.
Anyone else?

one week from 21 August, 4 bedroom house with huge garden, few hundred yards from nature reserve/moors/river walks (paddling obligatory!), walk to village pub/close woburn and whipsnade. It's really nice and all I ask in exchange is you look after our lovely dog.

anyone?

Are you anywhere near Olney?

MostlyLurking · 24/07/2010 15:41

OOh, very interested in this overthemill. Please contact me if nothing else has been arranged - [email protected]. Thank you.

tittybangbang · 25/07/2010 19:35

Oh me too! But we'd have our own labrador with us, a very soppy 6 year old bitch. Don't suppose it would be so great for your dog to have another dog intrude on his territory.
