HI

I wondered if anyone had a recommendation for a great English or History tutor for A-levels please? Any recommendations appreciated.

What area of the country do you live in? Are you happy with online tuition or would you rather have one to one in person tuition?
In any event recommendations from others, proven results is the way to go.
Di not assume that anyone with a good degree in the subject taught is necessarily a good teacher.
Check that whoever you get is well versed in the syllabus and exam board your DD is studying.
Don't go for the cheapest, most expensive or r even for the one in the middle for that matter. You will get good and hopeless charging high and low. Refer back to my comments about syllabus and thorough knowledge of the particular texts studied. This is English Literature but relevant to English Language and History as well.
It's no good getting a rotor(for example) whose speciality where he got a first is the Renaissance if your DD is struggling with the Industrial Revolution..
Don't know if this is helpful or not .Good luck op 💐

Hello @Tuberosa28 , I’ve taught and tutored English language and literature at A Level for over twenty years, and examined literature this last summer. Lots of great advice from @shiningstar2 but if you want to chat more about it feel free to send me a pm 🙂
