I am looking for recommendations for a good ( ex teacher) Chem and Bio tutor for my daughter who is in her 2nd year of A levels. Looking for someone to help her with the final push to get the grades she needs for Uni. Please only post with actual experience of your recommendation. Many thanks

I couldn’t find a Maths tutor for my DC. I found a 1 week revision course instead and it was very effective. My DC needed A and A stars for their chosen degree. They got a B in Maths in the January 2023 before their A levels in August 2023. Asked us for help. I booked them on a week long revision course (£800) and we had to take a week off and book accommodation (August baby so still only 17 at the time) but DC said it was excellent and they got the A in Maths they needed.

As it was Maths I am no help with Chemistry and Biology as DC was confident in these. But, on the week long revision course in Maths they went through the entire syllabus and gave my DC really good exam techniques too. DC also felt much more confident in Maths which, I think is the mindset that will get you to the A.

My DC was one of two state school pupils on the revision course too but DC is happy in their own life and life goals and tbh DC said the private school kids were more obsessed with outdoing each other and constantly comparing the value of their parents houses and the cost of their private schools and they pretty much ignored the state school kids anyway.

I can do both of these, or recommend other colleagues to you. DM if you want to chat
(my degree is Natural Sciences (Pharmacology) and i've been teaching both for 22 years now)
