Hi Everyone,

first time poster long time watcher!

I’m looking for a tutoring service for English and maths for my son in year 10. Probably won’t be able to afford 1 to 1 😞 any suggestions on alternatives??

have been trying to find relevant content on YouTube and social media. Has anyone ever used this before?

thanks for your help in advance.

If he has problems with certain topics, internet resources could help.

If he needs regular help, some sort of tutoring would be better.

A personal tutor, 1 to 1 or in a group of 2-3 would be much better than a tutoring business.

A friend of mine is an English tutor. I have given her email address on here before and it worked very well apparently. I can pm you her details if you would like them.

Several tutors do group sessions of 2-4 students which reduces costs. Do you know what specifically your child needs help with? That will be essential to find the right online resources

For maths, you need to break the subject down and study each topic in a specific order. Here's a link to a free lesson about ratio:

Let me know if you would want to try other lessons like the above.

It doesn't have to be all or nothing. I know I have had students that have just had a few sessions of tuition to see what they need to work on. I send them resources, quizzes, links to websites etc and they come back ad-hoc if they need me.
