Primary school tutoring - north London

Hi I am looking for recommendations for tutors in North London. Someone that is able to inspire children and teach them to love learning. My children are in the state school and get lost in the big class hence the need for extra. We have spoken to the school but sadly the resources are tight and with one teacher and 30 odd kids is hard to give them more.

thanks so much

It depends what you are looking for really. For life long love of learning and mentoring we used Tayberry.org.uk, we did on line but I know they have face to face tutors all over the country. If your DC are well behaved and keeping up with the class they won't get extra attention. Lots of less fortunate families have been really struggling to keep up recently.

Thank you. Yes we have found that only those who misbehave, those who have some connection (like a relative or a friend working at the school) or weirdly those who are really advanced (whose parents have been tutoring them or sending them to brain gym like camps) get extra attention the rest are not given enough attention or been inspired. Sadly, we are left with either me doing it (which after Covid home schooling is not an attractive proposition), moving them to a private school or getting private tutor to help me guide them and give them that extra that they want or need. Thanks so much

Hi @viio ! How did you get on?

We have actually managed to find someone through a friend now, who is local to us.
