Finding a good Tutor

Hi , dd is year 11 & I’m looking for tutors but it’s a minefield out there . I’d preferbly like a qualified teacher , how do I go about finding good organised tutors ?any advice please ?

You could ask on a local Facebook group, there may be others in your area who can recommend someone.

Thankyou , I’ve tried Facebook & tend to get loads of replies from people that don’t have the right qualifications

Look on some tutoring websites.
The sites verify the tutors' qualifications, DBS certificate, ID etc.
Good sites are First Tutors, Tutor Extra and the Tutor website.
I have chosen these sites because there is no ongoing commission for lessons.

Yes. They set out clearly the tutors qualifications and experience which gives parents confidence.

Are you expecting face to face and can I ask what subjects?

I’ve been looking at Tutorful but a lot of the good tutors are fully booked

I can put you in touch with someone for the French and English if that helps. she seems to be having really good feedback

I use tutorhunt. You can search for tutors near you and filter so you only get qualified teachers. You can also check their feedback. I would trust that more than a recommendation on here which could be a self- recommendation for all you know.

I used to advertise on personal tutors.
It's a tough one. It's October. I'm usually fully booked in July ready go start in September.

Try firsttutors. Alternatively you could use tutorhunt or Facebook in order to find a tutor.
