Sainsburys have a half price toy sale sometime in October - I've managed to stock up on Lego & Playmobil there in the last 2 years (for DS's birthday/xmas presents)and my local store is not a big one. Otherwise, you need to keep your eyes peeled from Sept onwards in the leadup to Xmas for toy sales/promotional offers from the usual High St stores - John Lewis seem to have random Playmobil offers (I've bought the huge Castle set there discounted by a third a few years ago and more recently picked up the Circus set for half price!)
