Please tell me about bikes for 8 year old boys!

DS has finally learnt to ride his bike think we need to buy him a 24" one. i am confused! have been recommended to buy a mountain bike - it's just for riding outside in the street with and days out - but i was confused by full suspension and front suspension...any recommendations. might just go to halfords...

if you haven't already got your ds one, don't get a full-suspension mountain bike - it's totally unneccessary unless he's doing proper off-road mountain biking and will make it so heavy it's a chore for him to ride

the best bikes for children imo are Isla bikes, expensive but worth every penny and they keep their value well so when he's grown out of it you can sell it and get quite a bit of your original outlay back
