It's ds's 4th birthday soon, and we'd like to get him a tough digital camera (after he broke mine!)

Has anyone's dc had one for Christmas? Which one? What's it like?

Anyone tried the Budz My First Digital Camera that you can get from Lloyds the Chemist (it's £10!)?

I got my son the Little Tykes one and tbh the picture quality is terrible. My ds (4) doesnt bother with it and always wants to use mine instead- wish I'd just bought a cheap digital camera and if it broke it broke

DD got the vtech one. it is virtually indestructible. The pics aren't great quality - think mobile cameras - and don't come out very well indoors (flash too bright or not enough). BUT she is 3 and has a brand new little sister to contend with and the little games on it have been a godsend as she occupies herself with them for chunks of time. You can doctor people's faces on the photos which is fun too.

we also got the vtech one which my son who is 4 loves - but its very expensive it was 95 !!

however it does alot music games etc

We got the vtech one in Costco 18mo ago and it was about £40ish? Its been dropped in the snow and continued to work fine. And whilst the picture quality isn't that good, its not much different from a cheap digital.

You're much better off getting a lower priced "normal" camera instead of paying over the odds for a children's one and getting poor quality pictures IMO.

ToysRUs sell a little silver digital camera for £20 (in their normal electrical section) that is great for children as well as being cheaper and better quality than the vtech one which is more than twice the price.

the Fisher Price ones are on offer on Tesco atm... I'm sure I've seen them cheaper than that in store though..

bit cheaper in Sainsbury's

No idea what they're like - thinking of one for DS though..

We have a Fisher Price one. It's great. DD has had it for around a year (she's 3 and a bit) and has done all kinds of awful things to it and it still works. The screen is absolutely rubbish but the pics print up fine and look great once transferred to the PC.
