I have a question about Sylvanian Families - Willow Hall in particular if anyone can oblige me

Dd is 5 and got a few sylvanian families things for christmas (narrow boat, a family and a few other small bits)

We are both now frankly obsessed with it I have always been a dolls house fan so sylvanians are fantastic imho!

Anyway a question - Can the bunk beds fit nicely in Willow hall? The bed rooms look quite tiny, are they?

Which is the 'best' sylvanian house? - if there is such a thing as best!
I would be honoured if you wouldnt mind asking your dds for their opinion!

Final question - I have found online a willow hall new for £38 incl p&p (reduced to to slightly damaged box) - is that a must have bargain?!?!? Dd's birthday is ages away............

I need a sense of perspective!

Sorry not got WH but have a village of various others ! Ones with sloping roofs don't accommodate bunk beds well, if that helps , but you can spilt them to twins ! Latest addition is Babblebrook Grange which was £15 off on amazon pre Xmas.

dd2 has pootled off to get her willow hall out of the box to check for you! brb!

Polgara2 · 31/12/2009 09:38

Yes I now have it on authority that the bunk beds DO fit! DD2 loves her Willow Hall I have to say.

LauraIngallsWilder · 31/12/2009 09:41

Ooooooh thanks polgara

Annoyingly I know realise that the damaged box WH was sold before I found the bargain

I can see that babblebrook thingy is likely to have bigger rooms - whats with the fountain in the garden though

I am tempted to think light up fountain in front garden = chavvy

Have you seen the retro style caravan. it's brilliant. i want it.

unfortunately DD has grown too old and cool for sylvanians. i may have to get it for my future grandchildren.

LIZS · 31/12/2009 09:59

but what with all the caravans, travelling salesmen and houseboat , Sylvania is full of chavs !

Polgara2 · 31/12/2009 10:11

You may be overthinking this .

LIZS · 31/12/2009 10:13

Can you imagine what a great job it is to work on the creative side at Flair - what creature, lifestyle, accessories shallw e do next ?!

cece · 31/12/2009 10:17

DD got the caravan this christmas. It fits onto the green car, which she has already got. It is fab.

DD thinks the bunk beds should fit into willow hall. She hasn't tried yet as she got the b beds for xmas.... If you want we can get it out and try.

I would also like to recommend the canal boat. {smile]

Oh and BTW all the houses are fab. DD seems to play with the nursery a lot though if that helps.

LauraIngallsWilder · 31/12/2009 10:57

Polgara - I know I am overthinking this!

Thankyou for all your replies - cece, yes please if she would like to!
I think the bedrooms look tiny in willow hall - not really akin to 'hall' status imho
But nonetheless its the sylvanian house that I dd likes best

I have my eye on WH but dd sadly has hers on the tree house(way too big)so our families are still residing in dd's wooden doll's house. When she sees the light they can move out.

I would say though on Amazon.com(the American one I think) WH has shocking reviews, rooms apparently way too small so will watch this with interest.

LauraIngallsWilder · 31/12/2009 21:02

Milamae - thanks for the tip
In the USA they call SF Calico Critters

Amazon USA - Man was I disappointed!

Im beginning to think that the houses are meant to display all the bits rather than for kids to actually play with them..........

I am astonished that people buy Sylvanians for kids under 5 though - dd is 5 1/2 and there is no way (given how much SF costs) she can play with it if I am not there to check all the little bits dont end up on the floor and thence the hoover!

Why would anyone think of buying it for a two year old - happyland type stuff is better for that age surely?
