Nintendo DS games - what is a hit with your 5 / 6 yo boy?

Sorry, i know it's been done before but i'm unable to locate the threads as search isn't working properly.

Also, not looking to debate whether i should get ds for a 5yo. Have thought about it and bought one thanks.

Want to buy 2 games to get him started. He's into Disney so particularly interested in what you think of Disney Meteos and Disney friends, also the Madagascar game? What about the Brain trainer one?

All advice greatly appreciated.

tia

Well, my ds loves all of the lego games - especially star wars, and it doesn't hurt my sensibilites as all the characters just fall apart, and then happily rebuild themselves. Think there is star wars, indiana jones and batman. Oh, and lego battles - another huge hit. He also really seems to like the pokemon games, but as they go right over my head, that might not be such a good one. All the disney ones we have tried have been a bit contrived, and also really really tricky!! Brain trainer is fun, but don't expect your ds to love it and play it constantly - mine needs a little prodding!! Hope this helps.

I agree with everything thelennox says. My 6/7 yo ds loves all the Lego games esp Star Wars and Indy.

He found Disney games boring ... except of course for the two Cars games

Good luck

lego - indiana, batman, star wars.
all winners.

I recommended this the other day to someone else I think, but Scribblenauts is fantastic, and the Drawn to Life games. Would also agree with the Lego ones, DS (7) was hooked on the Star Wars one.

We did quite like both the Cars games but then DS was totally Lightning McQueen obsessed for 2/3 years so we may have been a bit biassed He moved onto Star Wars about 8 mnths ago but he does still go back to Cars every now and then.

I haven't seen Scribblenauts ... will have to look out for that one.
