Gosh are these all on your DC's list ?

Monopoly is fab, but for 8+ really.

Mousetrap is rubbish, too many cheap plastic bits that fall apart ... not like the good old days when I was a child !

Jenga is great, but just make sure that your in laws dont assume its expensive fire kindling

Moonsand is great, but an outdoors toy only unless you like trying to hoover up bits of coloured sand that have spread themselves all over your house.

Hot Wheels stuff is a bit flimsy imo.

Moonsand - DC love it but only come out once in a blue moon, and on hard floor so hoover up.
Marble run - old favourite
Aqua beads - love them, but they go everywhere
hot wheels - DS passionate about hot wheels, we have a three lane race track and shark attack thing that are good, other trick tracks not so good
paint your own crap - ends up in the bin prety quickly. It all ends up over painted and looking awful and then paint peels off.
Elefun - they loved it, I hate it, dog chewed it thank god so it is no more.
monopoly - have't opened this yet
hunry hippos - DC love it, can play it by themselves but balls go missing
buckaroo - DC play it by themselves and they like it.
guess who - bit flimsy, but they like it
connect 4 - they don't realy get the concept of this game, but they like filling up the grid.
jenga - my most hated game, have put it well otu of reach until they are much older (6 and 4 now) it just turn in to 60 block pick up for mum.
