Bakugan, do your kids play with them?

Ds (6) has a few bakugan that we got for about a fiver each in tesco...the wee ball things and the magnetic cards. He likes playing with them but just rolls them, no real game that I can see. I see there are various bits of merchandise to go with them, can anyone enlighen me further? What's good and what's not? Do they actually play with them?

(my super orgnaised relatives all want gift ideas so i'm trying to decide what we should get him!).

i thought the idea was that you put a/the card down and rolled the bakugan over it, at which point the bakugan opens up? they have different points values don't they, so you win or lose depending on how many points your bakugan have? not quite sure - isn't there a website for this sort of thing? [deliberately doesn't google as i know if we have them i will step on them and be worst mummy ever]

DS has had some, saved his money for them. Mostly he just did swapsies in the playground and last Christmas I bought him the board thing / arena thing they sell to go with them. Neither DS or I could work out how the game worked.

the battle back set comes with a load of instructions, about how to use the cards that open them up and the other cards (like playing cards). my son (5) loves themut we don't actually play the game and we have watched one episode...beyond rubbish....i think little ones just love the way the open up!
