I am very tempted with the Playmobil Noah's Arc, not for me of course, for ds Anyone got one? Is it any good? Good play value?

Lurking was thinking of getting one for nephew

OrmIrian · 03/10/2009 11:31

Yes. Twas the first bit of Playmobil we got for DS#2. I love playmobil and this was a good 'un. Full of hanimals. But be prepared to lose a few rabbits and cats

Opc0904 · 05/10/2009 18:46

Ark looks great, Toysrus are selling it for £29.99

hocuspontas · 05/10/2009 18:50

I think we paid £60 a few years ago but it was worth it. It's always been a bath toy and considering I've never cleaned the limescale off, it still looks good. Dd3 (11) still plays with it (although she'll kill me for telling everyone!)

choufleur · 05/10/2009 19:02

not got the ark but DS has quite a lot of playmobil stuff and loves it

Avendesora · 05/10/2009 19:58

We have ordered it from Toys r Us Thank you all very much! DD has expressed an interest in Playmobile too so I may need advice on the Circus soon...

What age is it suitable from? It says 4 years plus, but not sure how accurate that is.

squilly · 05/10/2009 21:32

All Playmobil is totally gorgeous, great value and keeps it's value well, so you can sell it on Ebay when you've finished with it! Even if there are a few rabbits and bits missing

Love, love, love Playmobil...

choufleur · 06/10/2009 09:10

Ds 3 1/2 has been playing with his stuff for quite a while, he got some for his birthday and a few bits for christmas.

Opc0904 · 06/10/2009 17:15

Playmobil have a damaged box sale starting on the 26th October, I'm a bit obsessed with pm at the moment, really love the Ancient Egypt stuff - their cust services no is 01268 490184.

squilly · 07/10/2009 22:26

Thanks for the info OPc0904. does it just come through on the main Playmobil Website?

I know what you mean about the Egyptian stuff. It looks fab. And of course, the Egyptian era is next for the Y4 curriculum, so though dd isn't keen right now, I suspect that will change dramatically as soon as it clocks around.

For now squillyjr is looking for the Roman Ampitheatre for Christmas and any deal would be great for us. She's threatening to sell some of her old junk toys on Ebay to make space money for it so fingers crossed, we can get away without spending all our own money on it

We just got hold of a bank robbers set from one of the retail outlets and it's so cute. It has it's own safe with a lockable combination and two bank robbers, one complete with 'stubble' and a flat cap. DD thinks it's the bees knees.

Off to check out Playmobil deals

Opc0904 · 08/10/2009 13:41

Love the Romans too! Re the damaged box sale I think you have to ring up from Monday 26th and ask what's available, might be worth checking that date nearer the time but I'm sure they said it would be during half-term. I don't think they list the items on their website, good luck with the ampitheatre!

squilly · 08/10/2009 17:17

Thanks again Opc0904. I shall give them a call

belgo · 08/10/2009 17:21

The playmobil Noah's Arc looks very good, you can send out for extra animals for it.

Just check the carpet thoroughly before you do the hoovering otherwise I guarantee you will lose half of the bits!

Avendesora · 08/10/2009 19:56

Are the extra animals from the web site? Are they in pairs?

OP posts:
cornsilk · 08/10/2009 19:59

We have it. It's fine. It floats so we used it mainly as a bath toy.

ja9 · 08/10/2009 20:03

Avendesora - the circus is FANTASTIC! Ds got it for his b'day recently. It's our first 'encounter' with PM and i'm in love with it!

belgo · 09/10/2009 07:04

here are extra animals.

stealthsquiggle · 09/10/2009 07:11

Ahh - since we have bank, farm, airport, police station, roman amphitheatre (SquillyJr has good taste - it's great) as acquired by DS, I have a cunning plan to brainwash persuade DD that now she is a big girl she needs either Noah's Ark or the Circus for Christmas, but I can't decide which

Top tip for those considering bath-based Playmobil - get a sink strainer for your bath plughole, unless you fancy trying to rescue baby animals / diver's flippers from the U bend?
