Is Maileg worth the money?

My daughter’s birthday is coming up and I wanted to get her a dolls house and dolls to play with, there is one at her grandparents’ house and she absolutely loves playing with it and I know she’d love to have something similar at home. I’ve been looking at dolls houses and dolls from various places like Little Dutch, John Lewis, Smyths, Le Toy Van and they all seem to be wooden peg dolls which is what she already has at her grandparents.

I very reluctantly looked at Maileg and just thought it was all so sweet but can’t believe how expensive it is! I know I would have loved it at her age but feel like if I buy a dolls house, a couple of mice and some furniture to go with it I’ll be bankrupt!

Do any of your little ones have a Maileg collection and have they got a lot of use out of it, is it worth the money or can anyone recommend cheaper/better alternatives?

They are lovely dolls tbh my daughters have loved them. Ive never bothered with the dolls house or furniture as too pricey but my girls have a variety of mice, e.g. they love the twins!
