What bath toy is best for a 6 year old?

My boy loves being in the bath and I want to get him a few new toys to make it extra fun. Any ideas what I can get him? (Want something he won't soon get bored of and ideally a toy that encourages imaginative play.)

When I was a kid we had a rescue helicopter and boat

Ds2 loves rubber ducks at that age. They all had names and there was an ongoing story that he acted out at bathtime. I think there was a scuba diving action man toy, and a couple of other random characters too but mainly ducks.

Other than that his favourite was "fishing for floaters". I'm sure you can guess what that was.

At that age the best bath toy is foam bath letters so they can write rude words and cheeky phrases onto the bathroom wall. We had several bags. You can also get creative and make monsters and spaceships with combinations of letters.

DS2 (now 9) has always just taken normal toys in there. Action figures etc. He likes small world play so it suits him.

He's 6. Just ask him!

Playmobil do a bath advent calander, it's a police rescue one, comes with divers and motorised vehicle that goes in the bath, about £20 or under on amazon. Add some sea animals, fish, whales etc.

My daughter likes to take her baby doll. It's one of those with a plastic body, bought exactly with this in mind 😉 soft bodies can't have baths

Just remember that anything that isn't hard plastic is going to get mold!! Especially those traditional bath toys 🤢 as much as you try to squeeze the water out after each bath, one day you'll squeeze out black gunk 😖 it's disgusting to think your child is playing with mold!
