Grimm's rainbow stacker - medium vs large (and do tiles "fit" the large size)

Considering getting this for son's birthday, he is due to be 2 shortly. Like the idea of open ended play, multi purpose play etc

Question for those who already have it or use it elsewhere e.g childcare settings etc

  1. would you get the medium or large size for a two year old?

?the large would "grow with the child" etc or is it too large for dc to handle?

2. do the Grimm's semi circles "fit" with the large rainbow stacker?

tia!

Wouldn't normally spend so much on such a small child's toy. However, i figure given he has zero interaction with peers, spending all our time at home, no party costs etc it's something I'm willing to go for this around.

Recommendations into where you bought from also much appreciated.

Amazon seem to have some stock (only 2 large)

But I'd prefer to purchase from a small business if possible

We have the large rainbow, medium rainbow (and all the other elements + house) and the semi circles.

The semi circles fit with the large rainbow.

My eldest got the large rainbow as a second birthday present and could handle it no problem.

Other than a spate of using it as a mermaid tail and ball run it’s (and the rest of the stuff) has been pretty much ignored. Mine much prefer ‘putting on shows’, reading books, pens and paper, Lego and occasionally their baby doll.

I commented to DH last night, we appear to have children from the 50’s!

Ours came from Babi Pur. I would imagine as a German company there are brexit issues, but they’ve always been scarce.

Yes Bebe, Babipur, Myriad are all my faves for Grimms. Sometimes Kidly and Scandiborn have stock if you want other alternatives to Amazon.

We have a few rainbows but I got them mostly for myself as they're so beautiful!

Personally I think they are nice decoration for adults. Occasionally my son has driven a car through its tunnel, but that's been my suggestion rather than his. I've set all sorts of things up using our rainbow and it's always a flop 🙄

At 2 my DS had a lovely wooden crane/ building set he used a lot. He didn't use the people though you can use them to encourage interaction , we also had some peg type Nims which were a flop too, but my now 1 year old loves them. Diggers, and buses were his passions and after watching fireman Sam towards 2.5/3 then fire engines.
