Russian dolls from Moscow - safe for toddler?

Hey everyone, we were given a couple of Russian dolls by an aunt after her trip to Moscow which my 3 year old son absolutely loves playing with. He plays nicely with them and I'm not worried about him choking on the small one or anything, but I'm a bit concerned about whether lead paint was used. They were bought in an average tourist shop and there's nothing stamped on them about regulations etc, and I'm not sure what the law is like in russia for it. Would you let your son play with them? Thank you!

Yes, of course I'd let my child play with them. At that age he surely doesn't put stuff in his mouth anymore.

I hid the 2 smallest ones, just to be on the safe side.
