My friend's son is undergoing cancer treatment and I'd love to send him something (probably will order it from Amazon in Aus) has anyone got any ideas of some presents (£20 or under - my intention would be to send a series of gifts over the months to give him regular nice surprises)?

Magazine subscription? He can dip in to it as and when he has energy and they come with "gifts". Mini lego sets? Minecraft papercraft sets?

If my son were of a similar age and in a similar situation, he'd enjoy:
'Metal Earth' modelling kits. We've bought some off Amazon before. They've got loads to choose from.
A heat-change mug. He likes his Super Mario one.
Grow-your-own Venus fly trap kit
Lego stationery such as these marker pens www.amazon.co.uk/Lego-Marker-Pen-Set-Multi-Colour/dp/B015FM28ZW/ref=pd_bxgy_229_img_3?psc=1&_encoding=UTF8&tag=mumsnetforum-21&refRID=S64R89PEQDKGJYVJJQVM
Addictaball Maze
Star Wars origami kit
Where's Wally books
Magic Trick set
Any chocolate product from The Chocolate Workshop company.
