Help anyone born in or around 1979.... I remember a toy, can you help me find it?

I am going mad trying to find this toy as I think my girls would love it....

I remember other girls having one of these and I was so jealous aged around 9-11. It was a box maze, very similar to a brio labyrinth, but it was sealed, wooden, big, about the size of a box of trivial pursuit, with a greenish tinge to the case and the maze. There was a tiny ball bearing that had to make its way past (as I remember it) nearly 100 holes to get to the centre. If it fell down a hole, it went back down to the bottom of the puzzle to start again. It's so similar to the brio labyrinth but better as instead of having levers to twist you just had to hold the box on your lap and move its angle around to control the ball bearing.

Can any 30 somethings put me out of my internet search misery and find it for me?
The best game ever, I never got one, and I have never got over it!

I was thinking of this OP,

www.google.co.uk/search?q=tomy+snafu&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&hl=en-gb&client=safari#imgrc=Z0SvDOCmW4RyaM%3A

but having read your post again, it's probably not that. One of my friends had it and I loved playing with it.

We had one of these!

I believe this is it:

Wasn't there something called screwball scramble?

TrustySnail · 30/12/2016 22:39

We had the 100 hole version - it took ages, because I'm the least dextrous person, but I eventually cracked it and then learned to do it backwards. Hours of fun!

Amazing trusty snail that is it!!! I've been searching for years for it. Thanks so much. Now to try and find a second hand one... thinking ahead to next Christmas. Thanks again so much!

You're welcome!

A few come up on e-Bay as having been sold in the last six months (500 hole version for over £100, but the 100 hole versions went from £10.99 ) so I'm sure you'll find one in plenty of time for next Christmas.

I remember it being as addictive as the internet, so have fun!

Hi, I think this is what you are looking for, the design has changed so no more wood, but the game is the same. www.facebook.com/pg/MasterMazeCraze
