My DD has roller boots and skates really well on them. She tried her friends inline skates the other day and couldn't skate on them but maybe that's because she's not used to them. I bought roller boots rather than inline skates because I thought it would be easier for her to stay upright, particularly when learning. Other kids in the street have started getting roller boots now too. The little girl next door had inline and has now got roller boots so I'll ask her later which are best/easiest to skate on.

The general opinion in my skating mad street is that quads are better than inline skates Grin

Hope that helps OP

Inline definitely favoured here once they can skate, much faster! But quads are definitely better for learning as they tend to be slower. You can also get skates that start off as 3 wheels (1 in front and 2 at back) which convert to inline later.

Also SFR skates are generally well regarded.
