Bike for a 4 year old? Anything cheaper than an islabike?

Ds has been doing really well on his balance bike so for his birthday I'd like to upgrade him to pedals.

In an ideal world I'd go for an Islabike or a Frog bike but funds are tight and where I live there just isn't a second hand market for them so I can't find any on eBay within collecting distance.

Is there another option for a lightweight children's bike?

Ds "cycled" 6 miles yesterday on his balance bike with dh and I on our bikes and he kept up brilliantly (we obviously weren't going very fast!). I don't want to lumber him with a cheap bike that is too heavy and unmanageable for that kind of ride at his age.

Ridgeback is another make you could look at. Or maybe Dawes?

Thanks I'll have a look into that. Smile

Anymore suggestions?

Just remembered Dawes are doing a new range of lightweight kids bikes expensive though
