Maxi Micro Scooter - help with the bar

I just pulled the T bar to its maximum length, and now I can't push it down again. DP has tried too, so it's not a matter of strength! Are we doing anything wrong, is it broken?

There is a little hole in it and you need to line it up with a round thing that pops in and out.
Maybe the round catch thing has popped out. If so, you need to push it in in order to push the bar back down.

There is a little push-in knob that you need to push in. I did exactly the same, thought I'd killed it, then DH solved it. Unfortunately am out of house, so can't check exactly where, but if I remember correctly, it was near the handlebars
