Ok so Christmas is really not all that long away now....and my thoughts are turning to what to buy dd this year.

Any toys you recommend? Anything that you have found was an absolute 'must buy' for this age?

TIA :-)

Can't help I'm afraid but I'd love some ideas too....DD will be 22 months at Christmas.

Ooh was going to start a similar thread as my dd will also be 20 months at Christmas. Great ideas so far, like the idea of a train set as dd loves watching Thomas The Tank Engine but have mentioned the idea to a few people and responses are that it's basically a boy thing!?
She already has a doll and buggy, but will be watching for more ideas:)

MrsMangoBiscuit · 13/09/2013 13:20

I would say train set. DD will be 4 by Christmas this year, and has had her train set for a year now I think. She still plays with it all the time. So much so that GM is buying more to expand it.

Train sets are not a "boy thing". Purple, I would tell your friends that as it doesn't require a penis to operate, I'm sure your DD will be fine! Hmm

MoneyMug · 13/09/2013 13:24

Aquadoodle. My DD loves it.

Purplerain80 · 13/09/2013 13:45

Ha ha nothing these days require a penis or nothing will get done ;)! I would love to start collecting Thomas trains for her and your right I'm sure my dd will love it too! Ooh what's aqua doodle ?

AnneOfGreenGarbles · 13/09/2013 16:19

Great ideas - keep them coming!

Isn't it funny how toys get bigger the older the child gets? There will be no room for adult furniture in our house at this rate!

There are some gorgeous toy kitchens around. And dh would love an excuse to buy a brio train set!

Purple, Aquadoodle is a pen which uses water rather than ink, and a drawing mat. The picture disappears after a few minutes and you can start again. Art without the mess - ingenius!
