It is DS 4th birthday at the end of the month and I can't think what to get him. I always feel quite guilty that he hasn't got loads of toys - unlike all his playdates. I just hate lots of plastic tat. We got him a castle and knights for Xmas which he likes. He's got a balance bike and scooter. I'm stumped. Help!

Trampoline?
Playmobile
Weapons for his castle - catapault etc?

Playmobil, duplo, dressing up, garage and cars, big construction vehicles and train track are all popular here. He also likes drawing stuff, jicgsaws, story CDs and musical instruments - keyboard, drums and guitars.

The plastic tat and volume of stuff is annoying but an assortment of cheapish storage boxes etc keep most of it at bay WinkWink

Thank you all! May well add to his castle and have look for some playmobil stuff.

We got DS a bike with pedals for his 4th birthday. Thought his favourite present was his Mike The Knight socks Grin

Ooh, where did you get the Mike the Knight socks ipanicked?

Playmobil, proper lego and dressing up stuff. He's almost 5 now and is obsessed with playing with lego now.

He got some imaginext batman stuff and a puppet theatre at Christmas which he likes too. Nothing comes close to lego though!

My DS is nearly 4 and he loves playmobil (though he does still play with his old happyland stuff too). He will be getting a playmobil pirate ship for his birthday, and he will be getting the pyramid at xmas (to share with DD)

He loves puzzles, thunderbirds toys (thank you ebay!), cars, wooden train set, lego, wooden bricks, marble run. Anything buildy really, am looking forward to getting him proper knex/meccano when he's a bit bigger!

Current favourite is this ELC dino kingdom which unfortunately seems to be out of production now (I only bought it last year) but maybe there are similar things, in fact playmobil now has a dinosaur range.

I don't like tat either, I like stuff that I know will last - playmobil and lego can never be classed as tat :o

The imaginext stuff is plastic but feels a bit less tatty than other brands. My DS loves the t-rex and bat cave.

Oh and if he's a fan, Asda are selling Mike the Knight pyjamas.

My DS loves colouring and painting so we got him a load of personalized stuff and a tractor with pedals for outdoors - still loves it.

He quite loves his lego and we have one of those village road rugs on his floor to play his cars on.
