That is our dilemma really. DD is 2.5 years and quite tall for her age I think 95cm).

She has seen a micro scooter at friends house, hopped straight on and was whizzing around. DH is thinkg about getting her a traditional bike with stabilisers but I've read lots or reviews on how brill balance bikes are that I'm now confused!

He won't want to do aby research, is more a kind of buy the first thing he sees kind of guy, so I need some quick advice!

Balance bike ime. Ds2 has all 3 and spends by far the most time on his balance bike.

We had a balance bike for the DSs (a Puky). Because of it DS1 learnt to ride a bike by the time he was 4 1/2 and DS2 was 3 1/2, so we think balance bikes are fab!

Mine started riding at about 2 so think it's about right.

Balance bike fab. They can whizz along pretty fast so you can go on longish walks, whereas not as practical with stabilisers. Aged 2 is perfect to start. My DS went straight onto a proper bike age 4 no stabilisers at all due to the balance bike

Mine started at 2.

I'd go balance bike now every time, I'm a big fan!! Dd2 got one for her 2nd bday and within 2 weeks was flying round the place with feet up able to balance.
This prompted us to get dd1 a balance bike- she is 4 and had never really liked or mastered her bike with stabilisers.. She got one 3 weeks ago and last weekend my husband took off her stabilisers on her ordinary bike and within half an hour she's now flying round the place on an ordinary bike with no stabilisers.. Couldn't recommend them highly enough... Plus the kids find them so easy they can go for miles on them and you don't seem to end up carrying the bike after 5 minutes in the park.

Love them!! (can u tell?! :-))
