Yet another skylander question - would it be too old for 7 and 5 year old as a joint present?

We generally try to avoid too many wii games since they tend to fight over it but it looks good!

Sorry, my post wasn't very clear I meant will the four (nearly five) year old be ok with it or will it be too old. If it would be too tricky then I can just get it for DS1 (but would rather it is joint so I don't get all the "leave it alone its mine" arguments!!)

We have just got it for our ds for his 7th birthday. It is a 7 certificate and it is a wee bit violent (not horrifically but more than I would have been happy with for ds when he was 5). It is challenging too, so maybe would be a bit frustrating for a 5 year old. Our ds is definitely on the sensitive side though.

Hmm thanks Carrots - maybe we should hold off getting it altogether then. If we get it for DS1 than DS2 will certainly see if even if he wasn't allowed to play it. We already have an excess of shooting and lightsabering with lego star wars. Shame since I liked the idea of grandparents buying the characters for presents.

Here is some footage which shows the level of violence involved. Dh doesn't think it is a problem and our ds is very sensitive to these things.

Carrotsandcelery · 20/11/2011 11:28

I don't think it is any more violent that the Lego games and the character changing and collecting will keep the game fresh for a long time I hope.

thanks carrots I think on balance I might get it and if it causes problems I'll just limit the amount of time they have on it.
