Playmobil minifigures have come out in Belgium. Two sets of 12 figures, one for 'boys' and one for 'girls' Hmm, 2 euros apiece.

I have not yet figured out a way of identifying the figures from the packets alone, although the printed numbers appear to be different, I cannot find any identification method on the internet.

What is most interesting about the figures is that they are entirely in pieces, and you have to work out how to put the figure together - legs, body, arms, head (a bit like Lego). This makes it near enough impossible to id the figure from feeling the packet.

Yesterday I bought four packets, and got a mermaid, girl with a big dress, girl with tattoos and a very cool zombie/mummy. There are stickers in some of the packets to decorate the dresses etc.

I will search for a link.

I think I've seen there in the newsagents here. Sounds fab!

here is a link where they are being sold taken out of their packet and assembled, which rather takes the fun out of it.

Yes they are fabSmile direct rip off of the Lego minifigures of course, and a huge money spinner, but fab nonetheless.

OOOh. Are they smaller than normal playmobil people?

We are off to France next week, I hope they'll have them there

belgo · 13/08/2011 10:16

They are the same as the normal playmobil people. ( I don't think they are called 'minifigures', maybe just 'figures')

I've only just noticed my typo in the title.

Great. DS is an avid collector of Lego mini figures, so these are just up his street.
Can you buy them. UK, or shipped cheaply to UK?

belgo · 16/08/2011 14:49

EighttoSixer - my children love the Lego minifigures as well, and we are awaiting Series five to come out so we can get the Cleopatra figure for our Lego pyramid.

I bought some more playmobil figures today, and now have the Witch (very cool hat, glasses with hook nose and clogs); a street girl (with ornage neon hair in very poor quality plastic, surprising for Playmobil) and the executioner which ds loves.

I have been writing down the code numbers on the packets and comparing them on the internet but so far I don't think it's possible to identify what is in the packet.

I've been having fun collecting these. We now have the cave woman carrying her baby on her back.

And for lego, we have the Cleopatra figure to complete our lego pyramidSmile
