Affordable star wars toys?

my boys are both obsessed with sw and have birthdays coming up. The Lego sets and other toy fighters, characters etc that i've seen (eg toyrus amazon etc) are IMO ludicrously expensive. Ds1 just got an "at-at walker" (WTF?) as a present which apparently cost £45 Shock

Do affordable sw toys exist?

Light sabres range from about £6 - £35 depending on whether it has sounds etc.

dressing up outfits (darth vader, storm troopers etc) are about £15 -£20

Blasters are £10 in Argos

You can get smallish lego sets for about £10 and say a v wing is about £25

tesco (and tesco direct) do sets and that, so you could pay for things with clubcard points if you have any?

No (in answer to OP).
Will MN get a horrible liable writ if I say that George Lucas is a money-grubbing self-important g**? He famously kept the toy rights on the Star Wars movie when nobody else usually bothered to retain them, most of his personal fortune is on the back of that.

DS has an enormous * Wars Lego collection (Bitter, qui moi?)

Thanks.

Not surprised to hear that about GL. The Mark up on Lego compared with other brands does seem huge.

We do have tesco vouchers bug they are paying for our holiday :)

My DS is playing with retro 1980s toys given to us by a lovely friend. I gave mine to my nephew. Tap people up. They are not worth a lot, but to buy them on ebay costs because of the postage.
