can you recommend a wooden kitchen?

i was set on the ikea one, but now wondering if it's a bit boring???

it's for ds3's 2nd birthday (doesn't matter if it's pink tho) and i['d like him to get a reasonable amoutn of use out of it so nothing too small as he is quite tall already

If you or someone you are close to is even a little bit DIY I have seen some fabulous kitchen online. They were anywhere from sleek and modern looking...perfect for a boy. To cutest old fashioned. They were made from second hand sewing cabinets or side tables refurbished and added to. They used things like large aluminum jar lids as stove burners and a white enamel bowl for a sink. Anyway you could probably just google it and find loads of ideas. I found it on someones blog. HTH.

We have got this one here. I think they sell them in ELC but I got mine in Costco four years ago. It has been fantastic and has probably been played with every day since we got it. It has also been shipped to Australia and is still in top form.

I chose it because it has good storage for all the play food and pans and things.

I got my Ds son a lovely one from John Lewis. He is 6 and still plays with it .... pretending he is competing in masterchef or running a cafe! They still stock it, bit expensive I know, but we've had 3 1/2 years of fab play out of it. got all the kitchen bits and bobs from ikea though

I should say Ds's kitchen survived being shipped to NZ and I've already been offered more than I paid for it if he ever gets fed up with it!!

We have this red wooden one from elc, which DS got at 2.5. It's a good size and popular with visitors of all ages!

Not sure if this is available in UK, but my daughter has had it since she was 18 months, nearly 3 now and plays with it every day. It is small, but older kids can sit on the floor to play with it (or you could raise it up some how) - it comes with food, pots, pans, accessories all wooden and very cute.

Enough room in the cupboards for a tea set and more food etc.

Personally I love that it is not too big and taking up valuable space in my house!
