Can anyone recommend some in-car toys for my DD? She's going to be moving from a rear facing seat to a front facing one soon so I don't want to spend a lot on toys for carrier type car seats that can't be used for the front facing. I'm hoping to find things that she can't lob at the dogs/ lose in the back seat/ get bored with in two minutes flat. She's bored witless in the car at the moment and quite happy to tell me about it.

thanks!

i found that CDs worked much better than toys as DCs got bored of any toy in about 2 minutes or dropped it and wailed. CDs of nursery rhymes etc, you have to hunt about a bit to find ones that you can stand as you have to listen to them a lot! They seem to work really well though - send kids into a trance. Also found that front-facing was better - they seemed to be able to keep themselves amused looking at the window more going forwards than backwards. Good luck!

ELC do a sort of 'chain' made of plastic links, you can use these quite effectively to attach any toy with a loop to a car seat. I tend to swap toys around every month or two.

Buggy books / toy books etc are quite popular here!

ouch! good luck! My DS is addicted to a CD from 'french for fidgets' - you can find them if you google - it's a CD of french songs and DH and I like it because it is tuneful and a lot less irritating than most. We play it until they're both asleep then switch it off for some blissful silence...
