Shoe lace tying toys - any suggestions?

DS1 has just got his first pair of shoes with laces (given to us by friends).

He's 5 and is all fingers and thumbs trying to tie them.

Can anyone suggest a good toy/product that he can practice on? I'm hoping that there's something a bit more chunky that he'll be able to handle a bit more easily.

Hi i found a great gadget at ELC it's a wooden 'shoe' that velcros over the DC's foot with or with out shoes on when he/she can practise to their hearts content it took my DD only a couple of hours with it although we'd had a good few attempts before i bought it. hope this helpsxx

There's an Usborne book, with various laces and things. Tis a bit girl-orientated - maybe they do a boy one?

my ds practised on a pair of my trainers

That's not a bad idea AnnoyingOrange!

His laces seem so small and fiddly that I want something chunkier - a pair of mine or DH's migt just do the trick!
